PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE
Chairman of the Board – Trillion Communications Corp. (2005 - Current)
Responsible for the oversight and executive management of the Minority Business Enterprise to include the development and implementation of initiatives to ensure exponential growth and development.
- Serve as the Chairman of the Company's Board of Directors.
- Provide direct support to Executive-level management at client locations
- Initiate dialogue with potential VAR partners (OEM's, telecom service Providers, third party vendors, etc.) in order to support the Company's Strategic Direction regarding business expansion;
- Support the development and implementation of the Company's Strategic Plans
- Initiate periodic reviews of the Company's performance measures and metrics in order to ensure that corporate initiatives are aligned with the Company's Mission and Strategic Direction;
- Support projects/initiatives associated with ISO/TL9000 certification, including the development of appropriate service level measures and metrics.
Principal/Owner – SYDUR, Inc. (2004 - Current)
Responsible for the operations of an executive-level management consulting company. Areas of responsibility included direct collaboration with company officers and key corporate leaders regarding the growth and well-being of the respective companies.
- Serve as the intermediary between companies and suppliers.
- Provide direct support and guidance to executives.
- Provide consultative services and coaching to business leaders.
- Provide focus on inclusion and Corporate Diversity spend rates through identification of certified MWBE companies.
BELLSOUTH (formerly Southern Bell), Jacksonville, FL (1973 -2003)
Senior Network Vice President -Atlantic Operations (2002-2003)
Directed all network operations in Georgia and South Carolina. Areas of responsibility included provisioning and repair centers, installation and maintenance, central office operations, system support, network reliability, new product implementation, emergency preparedness, construction and engineering, switch and circuit capacity management, as well as support for corporate and external affairs. Organization consisted of 7200 total employees with 16 direct reports. Capital program was in excess of $550 million and expense budget was in excess of $460 million.
- Improved service in Georgia and South Carolina to higher levels of customer satisfaction while reducing forces by more than 1700 people.
- Introduce the "1-2-1" philosophy to Atlantic operation creating an effective organizational approach to excellence.
- Implemented a thorough communication plan in Atlantic operations, providing a systematic means of communicating strategy and tactical plans.
- Introduced "Rudy's Excellence Award" for outstanding individual and team excellence. This honor was awarded both internally and externally to recognize contributions for superior results.
- Earned respect of boss, peers and associates as evidenced by the receipt of the award for the "Best Network Vice President" in 2000.
- Implemented one on one's with 2nd level and above managers in the organization and coached/mentored 12-20 outside of the network organization.
Network Vice President -GA Operations (2002)
Responsible for all network operations in Georgia. Organization consisted of 6,800 total employees with 17 direct reports. Capital program was in excess of $600 million and expense budget was in excess of $550 million.
- Significantly improved service and cost performance year over year.
- Reduced head count and made substantial service improvement while reducing capital and expense.
Network Vice President -Louisiana Operation (1998 -2001)
Responsible for all network operations in Louisiana. Organization consisted of 4000 total employees with 15 direct reports. Capital program was in excess of $400 million and Expense Budget was in excess of $360 million.
- Instilled can do attitude in the LA team through the formal initiation one on ones and the "121" philosophy.

NVP Operations Support (1996 -1997)
Served as BellSouth Headquarters staff support for line operations centers, installation and maintenance, and central office operations. Acted as chairman for emergency preparedness for BellSouth.
- Effectively consolidated staff through staff through re-engineering of positions to ensure minimal use of support resources.
- Supported field operations methods and procedures, ensuring maximum effectiveness in daily operations.
AVP Planning & Provisioning Support (1996)
Served as BellSouth Headquarters staff support for line operations, provisioning, engineering, construction control centers. Oversaw switch and circuit capacity management support.
- Chaired Re-engineering task force.
- A key member of the long distance entry task force established to position BellSouth as a provider of long distance service by the FCC.
- Outsourced outside plant engineering, resulting in substantial cost savings
AVP Fleet and Material Services (1995 -1996)
Responsible for Fleet and Material Services and logistics for BellSouth in support of all operations. The organization ranged from 1400-1900 Bell employees and additional contractors, 26,000 plus vehicles, including purchases, maintenance, and disposition. Also included responsibility for electronic plug-in inventory value at more than $600 million.
- Outsourced transportation of material distribution for 9-state region to Ryder Logistics.
- Outsourced fleet maintenance to Butler Fleet Services.
- Established planning distribution and initial distribution centers throughout region.
- Consolidated and relocated major warehouse facilities.
